Update to the Model Engagement Letters
Review and update of NABL’s 1998 signature resource that provides representative examples of engagement letters for various financing transactions.
A lot has changed since 1998; both in the world at large and the world of public finance law. NABL published its Model Engagement Letters (2nd Edition) nearly three decades ago to serve as an industry standard and resource for bond attorneys in drafting their own engagement letters with clients. The General Law and Practice Committee (GLPC) now seeks volunteers willing to serve on a working group that will conduct a thorough review and update of the resource in anticipation for a forthcoming third edition. A new Model Engagement Letters report will consider the changes in the practice of bond law since 1998 and will better reflect the realities today’s environment.
The working group aims to commence its work in Q1 of 2027. Active NABL members interested in participating in this update project can indicate their interest by completing the form below. A chairperson for the working group will reach out to interested participants by the end of January 2027 with additional details and next steps.
