Hearing on “The Growing Busines of Sports”

This week, the Ways and Means Committee held a hearing on the tax treatment of the sports industry, including the use of tax-exempt bonds for stadiums.

On Tuesday, June 30, the House Ways and Means Committee held a full committee hearing entitled “The Growing Business of Sports: Reviewing Federal Tax Policy in the Multibillion-Dollar Industry”. While the hearing covered a broad array of tax issues facing college and professional sports, it immediately focused on the use of tax-exempt bonds for professional sports facilities.
