Public Finance Associate (Secondary Markets)

The Omaha office of Kutak Rock is seeking an entry-level associate to join the secondary markets group of its public finance department. Public finance or relevant transactional experience is preferred, but not required. Interested and qualified candidates, including 3Ls/2023 graduates, are encouraged to apply.


An associate in the Omaha public finance practice department will work with partners, associates, staff, and clients in Omaha and throughout the country in a very busy practice, involving a wide range of types of transactions and projects, including:

– Research of federal and state law, including the Internal Revenue Code, the federal securities laws, and local bond law

– Preparation of transaction documents, including trust agreements, indentures, credit enhancement agreements, loan agreements, and closing documents

– Preparation of underwriting documents, including offering documents, purchase agreements, and disclosure certificates

– Interaction and communication with clients and other transaction parties


– Law Degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school (2023 graduates are encouraged to apply)

– Strong academic credentials

– Excellent communication and writing skills

– Ability and confidence to work independently and flexibly
