Description: Attorney liability is an issue of increased concern for bond counsel, issuer’s counsel, disclosure counsel, and underwriter’s counsel. Public finance lawyers are exposed to client and third party claims and increased scrutiny of municipal finance transactions by regulatory agencies.This webinar will discuss the latest trends in how bond counsel can be exposed to professional liability and how losses may be prevented. Emphasis will be given to understanding current and ever-expanding bases of liability under the Model Rules, recent ethics decisions, industry standards, Treasury guidance, and SEC Enforcement actions.

  • Under 2019 CLE Certificates, Select “Ethics- Conflicts, Competence and Confidentiality” 
  • Check the ‘State Lists’ to determine if your CLE certificate(s) are issued by NABL or by your state. 
  • For ‘NABL Issued Certificates’, select your state(s). Click on the Adobe icon (top left) to generate a PDF of your certificate to save or print. (These certificates will auto-populate with your CLE information) *NOTE - if the certificate PDF is blank, we do not have your state bar number on file. Please email cle@nabl.org for assistance. 
  • Follow each state-specific instructions and deadlines for CLE reporting requirements.
  • For ‘State Issued’ and ‘General Certificates’, select the state, download the certificate, print, and fill out the certificate. (These certificates will not auto-populate with your CLE information)

Non-members will receive their CLE certificates by email after December 19, 2019.
