The Department of Labor (DOL), Wage and Hour Division announced that it will add an additional date in August for its teleconference provided in AAM No. 208, regarding implementation of Davis-Bacon Act labor standards to certain projects financed in whole or in part by the proceeds of bonds specified in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.   The DOL will now conduct conferences on Thursday, July 29, 2010, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. EDT and Thursday, August 19, 2010, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. EDT. Participants in the conference will learn:

  • Who is responsible for applying Davis-Bacon requirements to these projects?
  • How to identify applicable Davis-Bacon wage determinations for covered projects?
  • What rates apply if a needed classification is not listed in the applicable wage determination?
  • Who must be paid Davis-Bacon prevailing wages on these projects?
  • How do employers get credit for fringe benefits they provide?
