Department of Labor to Host Teleconference Clarifying Davis-Bacon Labor Standards as Applied to Bonds

The Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division will conduct an Internet conference on Thursday, July 29, 2010, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. EDT to clarify guidance provided in AAM No. 208, regarding implementation of Davis-Bacon Act labor standards to certain projects financed in whole or in part by the proceeds of bonds specified in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Participants in the conference will learn:
• What projects financed by tax-favored bonds require Davis-Bacon labor standards?
• Who is responsible for applying Davis-Bacon requirements to these projects?
• How to identify applicable Davis-Bacon wage determinations for covered projects?
• What rates apply if a needed classification is not listed in the applicable wage determination?
• Who must be paid Davis-Bacon prevailing wages on these projects?
• How do employers get credit for fringe benefits they provide?
