Committee Field Hearing in Los Angeles To Assess Recovery Act

On Friday, March 5, 2010, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Edolphus “Ed” Towns (D-NY) and Subcommittee on Government Management, Organization and Procurement Chairwoman Diane Watson (D-CA) held a joint field hearing in Los Angeles, CA, to examine the implementation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) within the State of California. The hearing is intended to focus on the use of Recovery Act funds by State and local governments for programs related to education, transportation, and energy, to assess measures implemented to avoid waste, fraud, and abuse and to analyze how budget shortfalls have impacted the use of funds within California.
