Municipal Law Committee
Monitors developments that affect the NABL model opinions and makes recommendations for revision projects; maintains and develops model language for bond documents; identifies and addresses issues of which NABL members should be aware in the municipal law area. Projects originate both from Board direction and from NABL member inititation. The Committee Chair and Vice Chair assemble subgroups to address specific projects as they arise.

Form Issuer Counsel Opinion Project
Project Description: This subcommittee comprised of members of NABL and the International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) is tasked with developing annotated form opinions of issuers counsel, for general obligation and revenue bond issues, and will explore the due diligence responsibilities of issuer counsel in delivering such opinions.
Status: Progress is ongoing, with the goal of producing a final work product in spring 2012.

Infrastructure Bank Legislation Project
Project Description: This subcommittee is initially charged with reviewing the various legislative proposals for a federal infrastructure bank and developing a summary presentation of the primary features of each. The subcommittee will also consider whether further NABL involvement in the form of written comments to congressional representatives, communications with the NABL membership or other activities are warranted.
Status: Project commenced in October 2011
